City DescriptionRichmond is a city in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,213 at the 2000 census. Richmond is part of the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²) of it is land and 1.15% is water.
Minnesota State Highways 22 and 23 are two of the main routes in the city. Richmond is 12 miles west of Interstate 94 on Highway 23.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,213 people, 483 households, and 343 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,421.5 people per square mile (551.0/km²). There were 498 housing units at an average density of 583.6/sq mi (226.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.51% White, 0.08% African American, 0.08% Asian, 0.08% from other races, and 0.25% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.33% of the population.
There were 483 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 23.6% of all households were made ...
