City DescriptionPine River is a city in Cass County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 928 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (3.0 km²), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (3.48%) is water.
Minnesota State Highways 84 and 371 are two of the main routes in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 928 people, 438 households, and 216 families residing in the city. The population density was 834.6 people per square mile (322.8/km²). There were 464 housing units at an average density of 417.3/sq mi (161.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.77% White, 0.75% African American, 1.08% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.75% of the population.
There were 438 households out of which 25.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.4% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 50.5% were non-families. 48.9% of all households were made up of ...
