City DescriptionOdessa is a city in Big Stone County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 113 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.0 km²), all of it land.
U.S. Route 75 and Minnesota State Highway 7 (co-signed) serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 113 people, 55 households, and 34 families residing in the city. The population density was 149.4 people per square mile (57.4/km²). There were 66 housing units at an average density of 87.3/sq mi (33.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100% White.
There were 55 households out of which 14.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 5.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.4% were non-families. 32.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.05 and the average family size was 2.57.
