City DescriptionNicollet is a city in Nicollet County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 889 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Mankato–North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area.
U.S. Route 14 and Minnesota State Highways 99 and 111 are three of the main arterial routes in the community.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 889 people, 344 households, and 241 families residing in the city. The population density was 390.1/km² (1,008.2/mi²). There were 350 housing units at an average density of 153.6/km² (396.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.20% White, 0.11% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.34% Asian, and 1.01% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.90% of the population.
There were 344 households out of which 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.9% were non-families. 25.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
