City DescriptionNew Munich is a city in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 352 at the 2000 census. It is part of the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.4 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 352 people, 126 households, and 89 families residing in the city. The population density was 646.9 people per square mile (251.7/km²). There were 129 housing units at an average density of 237.1/sq mi (92.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.15% White, 0.28% Native American, and 0.57% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.57% of the population.
There were 126 households out of which 28.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.3% were married couples living together, 1.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.6% were non-families. 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.16.
