City DescriptionNew Auburn is a city in Sibley County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 488 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²), all of it land.
Minnesota State Highway 22 serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 488 people, 169 households, and 130 families residing in the city. The population density was 987.6 people per square mile (384.5/km²). There were 182 housing units at an average density of 368.3/sq mi (143.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 90.37% White, 0.20% African American, 0.61% Native American, 8.40% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 14.34% of the population.
There were 169 households out of which 41.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.11.
