City DescriptionLe Center is a city in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,240 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Le Sueur County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²), all of it land. Le Center is located 25 miles from Mankato and 50 miles from the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
Minnesota State Highways 99 and 112 are two of the main routes in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,240 people, 838 households, and 563 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,507.2 people per square mile (580.4/km²). There were 877 housing units at an average density of 590.1/sq mi (227.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.75% White, 0.13% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.22% Pacific Islander, 5.49% from other races, and 0.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.91% of the population.
There were 838 households out of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% were married couples living together, 10.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.8% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of ...
