City DescriptionLaporte is a city in Hubbard County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 145 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), all of it land.
Minnesota State Highway 200 serves as a main route in the community, and Minnesota State Highways 64 and 371 are nearby.
As of the census of 2000, there were 145 people, 57 households, and 38 families residing in the city. The population density was 208.1 people per square mile (80.0/km²). There were 79 housing units at an average density of 113.4/sq mi (43.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.86% White, 1.38% African American, 0.69% Asian, and 2.07% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.38% of the population.
There were 57 households out of which 42.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.1% were married couples living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.6% were non-families. 24.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.03.
