According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²), of which, 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (16.00%) is water.
Minnesota State Highways 30 and 91 are two of the main routes in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 270 people, 128 households, and 83 families residing in the city. The population density was 650.1 people per square mile (248.2/km²). There were 135 housing units at an average density of 325.0/sq mi (124.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.89% White, 0.37% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.07% of the population.
There were 128 households out of which 26.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.1% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.4% were non-families. 32.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
