City Description

Kent is a city in Wilkin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 120 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Wahpeton, ND–MN Micropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 120 people, 41 households, and 28 families residing in the city. The population density was 624.2 people per square mile (243.9/km²). There were 47 housing units at an average density of 244.5/sq mi (95.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.83% White, 0.83% from other races, and 3.33% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.50% of the population. There were 41 households out of which 39.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.8% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.7% were non-families. 26.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.93 and the average family size was 3.46. In the city the population was spread out with 39.2% under the age of 18, 7.5%
