City DescriptionIhlen is a city in Pipestone County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 107 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²), all of it land. Split Rock Creek State Park is located in Ihlen.
Minnesota State Highway 23 serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 107 people, 43 households, and 27 families residing in the city. The population density was 276.1 people per square mile (105.9/km²). There were 44 housing units at an average density of 113.6/sq mi (43.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.07% White and 0.93% Asian.
There were 43 households out of which 23.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.9% were non-families. 32.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.18.
