According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 249 people, 111 households, and 74 families residing in the city. The population density was 400.4 people per square mile (155.1/km²). There were 116 housing units at an average density of 186.6/sq mi (72.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.98% White, 4.02% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.02% of the population.
There were 111 households out of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.0% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% were non-families. 34.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 2.84.
