City DescriptionHamburg is a city in Carver County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 538 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land. County Road 50 serves as a main route in the community. Minnesota Highways 5 and 25 are in close proximity to the city.
As of the census of 2000, there were 538 people, 206 households, and 159 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,697.0 people per square mile (1,038.6/km²). There were 209 housing units at an average density of 1,047.7/sq mi (403.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.51% White, 0.19% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.74% from other races, and 0.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.42% of the population.
There were 206 households out of which 35.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.5% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 19.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
