City DescriptionGarrison is a city in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, USA, on Mille Lacs Lake. The population was 213 at the 2000 census. The city lies within Garrison Township. It is part of the Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area.
U.S. Route 169 and Minnesota State Highway 18 are two of the main arterial routes in the community.
Garrison is the world's smallest city to have a McDonald's restaurant.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²) of it is land and 0.92% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 213 people, 113 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 198.9 people per square mile (76.9/km²). There were 191 housing units at an average density of 178.4/sq mi (68.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.65% White, 0.94% Native American, and 1.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.94% of the population.
