City DescriptionEvansville is a city in Douglas County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 566 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), of which, 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²) of it is land and 1.43% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 566 people, 249 households, and 127 families residing in the city. The population density was 811.8 people per square mile (312.2/km²). There were 268 housing units at an average density of 384.4/sq mi (147.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.65% White, 0.18% Pacific Islander, and 0.18% from two or more races.
There were 249 households out of which 23.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.4% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 48.6% were non-families. 46.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 27.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.01 and the average family size was 2.87.
