City DescriptionCosmos is a city in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States, along the South Fork of the Crow River. The population was 582 at the 2000 census.
Minnesota State Highways 4 and 7 are two of the main arterial routes in the community.
On the third weekend in July, the city holds the Cosmos Space Festival. See link below.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (3.0 km²), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.9 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (1.75%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 582 people, 240 households, and 154 families residing in the city. The population density was 519.3 people per square mile (200.6/km²). There were 261 housing units at an average density of 232.9/sq mi (90.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.28% White, 0.69% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, 0.34% from other races, and 0.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.34% of the population.
