City DescriptionCologne is a city in Carver County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,012 at the 2000 census. The city is about 30 miles away from Minneapolis.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), of which, 0.8 square miles (1.9 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (11.63%) is water.
U.S. Highway 212 and Minnesota Highway 284 are two of the main routes.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,012 people, 385 households, and 279 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,343.5 people per square mile (521.0/km²). There were 392 housing units at an average density of 520.4/sq mi (201.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.43% White, 1.48% Asian, 0.49% from other races, and 0.59% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.48% of the population.
There were 385 households out of which 38.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.8% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years ...
