City DescriptionAtlanta is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes and does not have any legal status as an incorporated municipality. The population was 757 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Montmorency County.
The community is centered on the junction between M-32 and M-33 at 45°00′17″N 84°08′38″W / 45.00472, -84.14389 in the east-central portion of Briley Township. East of Atlanta, M-32 and M-33 run concurrently for about six miles. The CDP also includes a small portion of Avery Township east of Atlanta and south of the Thunder Bay River. The Sno*Drift rally racing event is held in Atlanta annually. The event is currently the first Rally America National Rally Championship event of the season.Sno*Drift web site
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²), of which, 2.7 square miles (7.0 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²) of it (5.90%) is water. You will find a wide variety of apartments for rent. Another resource of CreativeLoafing.com and AJC.com. Check the apartment classifieds on those sites. In the last few years, Midtown has become more and more desireable and has an abundance of shops and restaurants to walk to, easy access to Marta rail system, and Piedmont Park. Good luck!

Priority mail is supposed to be 2-3 day shipping right? If someone in Atlanta gave a package to the post office a 3:30pm on Tuesday I should get the package in Michigan on Thursday or Friday correct? Which is more likely for that distance? Thursday or Friday? I know, im impatient.

I will be traveling from Michigan to Florida, by the way of Indy, Lousiville, Nashville, Atlanta.... I'm looking for a good resoure for Live Traffic updates along the way. I have Alltel as a phone carrier and am thinking of using the Google traffic site. Any other ideas to avoid any slowdowns on the way? My biggest concern is accidents, and other vehicle issues, not so much construction.

Depends on how your getting there. If by car, then about 12-14 hours, depending on traffic, weather and your speed and thats with only stopping for gas. Now with the winter months ahead of us, it might take longer if theres a lot of snow. Taking the bus, well thats a bit cheaper, plus you dont have to drive, but from personal experience, it SUCKS! I hate the bus. The train costs more and takes just as long, but I prefer to fly. Not too expensive and takes like 1 hour.

how do i receive a drivers license in Atlanta when it is suspended in Michigan? how do i appeal?

The customary process to resolve this kind of problem is that you need to remedy it first in Michigan. If you owe a fine, didn't have insurance, record was poor, whatever it was in Michigan that caused the suspension, is the first step. All the states have recipriocal agreements with each other and your record in one state follows you to another. It will be more inconvenient for you now because of the distance. It may mean alot of correspondance and phone calls. But that's the path to take.

Because I'm planing to move out of Michigan after a couple years out of college. I'm planing on becoming an RN. I'm really looking down south.

To live comfortable I would say you need to make a salary of around 50K. The cost of living here is steadily rising due to the influx of people moving here. A decent 1 bedroom now runs about 700-800 a month but by the time you move here in a few years, it will be more.

Between Detroit, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia, which city would you say is a better city to take your family on vacation to?

I'd go to Atlanta ... famous in part due to it's Southern hospitality. As a former Olympic city, they've done an excellent job in making sure there was plenty to see and do and have an excellent transit system (MARTA or Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority), making it easy to get around the entire city. Have fun in the New York of the South!
