City DescriptionAlgonac is a city in St. Clair County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 4,613 with a projection of 4,590 in 2006.
Algonac is located at the southern end of the St. Clair River, just before it splits into a large delta region known as the St. Clair Flats. (Coordinates 42°36′N 82°34′W / 42.6, -82.56) The St. Clair River drains Lake Huron into Lake St. Clair and is part of the Great Lakes Waterway.
At the center of Algonac is Algonac City Park, a park which contains a quarter-mile long boardwalk along the St. Clair River. Just to the north of the city is Algonac State Park.
Algonac was the birthplace of artist and first female licensed architect in Michigan Emily Helen Butterfield who was famous as a church architecture innovator.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,613 people, 1,871 households, and 1,212 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,291.7 per square mile (1,272.2/km²). There were 2,014 housing units at an average density of 1,437.1/sq mi (555.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.36% White, 0.15% African American, 0.95% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, ... Wow.. my grandma lived in Algonac until she passed away in 02, I'm originally from Macomb County. I never knew about Morrow road so I did a google search and found this

is anyone ever been to Algonac, Michigan?? Question: and if so what did you think of it and where did you stay??
Answer:
We spent a day in Algonac on our way around the lake several years ago.
We didn't stay over however.
We did however, walk the full length of the boardwalk on the St Clair River (I love boardwalks). We found the small town quaint and relaxing (as lake side communities generally are).
Though I cannot recommend any hotels in the area, I've found some tourist information for you:
