City Description

Seabrook is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mashpee in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 477 at the 2000 census. Seabrook is located at 41°34′55″N 70°29′55″W / 41.58194, -70.49861 (41.582070, -70.498618). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²), all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 477 people, 187 households, and 154 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 497.8/km² (1,300.6/mi²). There were 229 housing units at an average density of 239.0/km² (624.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.58% White, 0.21% African American, 0.21% from other races. There were 187 households out of which 25.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.3% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.6% were non-families. 14.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.76. In the CDP the population was spread out with 20.5% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24,
