City DescriptionForestdale is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Sandwich in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 3,992 at the 2000 census. Zip Code: 02644
Forestdale is located at 41°41′0″N 70°30′44″W / 41.68333, -70.51222 (41.683462, -70.512116).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.5 km² (4.1 mi²). 9.6 km² (3.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it (8.40%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,992 people, 1,307 households, and 1,049 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 415.5/km² (1,076.2/mi²). There were 1,381 housing units at an average density of 143.7/km² (372.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.97% White, 0.85% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.50% Asian, 0.35% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.28% of the population.
There were 1,307 households out of which 49.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.7% were non-families. 14.7% of all households were made up of individuals and ...
