City DescriptionEast Sandwich is a census-designated place (CDP) and village within the town of Sandwich in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 3,720 at the 2000 census.
East Sandwich is located at 41°44′16″N 70°25′23″W / 41.73778, -70.42306 (41.737654, -70.423178).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 19.5 km² (7.5 mi²). 19.4 km² (7.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (0.53%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,720 people, 1,466 households, and 1,055 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 192.0/km² (497.6/mi²). There were 2,044 housing units at an average density of 105.5/km² (273.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.68% White, 0.22% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.67% of the population.
