I spent a Saturday night there with a bunch of friends and we had a great time; not a place to go super rowdy, but you will have a great time hanging out with friends. Would highly recommend it.

I have been to the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse a few times and the service is consistently awful. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. The CCC is one of the only bars in Coolidge Corner, but you'd be better off anywhere else. Each time I have been there, I have been treated progressively worse. The waitstaff is amateurish and inexperienced. Recently, when we complained to the manager about the wait time and the fact that many people were being seated before us despite arriving after us, the manager was incredibly rude and unaccomodating. Do not go here. It's a waste of your time and money.

After eating a fantastic meal at a nearby restaurant, some friends and I wanted to grab a few beers to hang out so the closest place was matt Murphy's so we went in there. My friends haven't been here in a while and were pretty disappointed when we first stepped in. There were no bar stools and for a place named Matt Murhpy's, to have no Guinness, well, was very unexpected. And not a good unexpected. It seemed a little pretentious as there was a two line description of what a "gin and tonic" on their "cocktails" list was. And the most disgusting was that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom which smelled horribly even for a bar bathroom, which is horrifying for being in the kitchen. We told the guy who worked there that we were only going to have some drinks, and he says well the tables are for eating patrons only. Ok, fine. There was already another guy just hanging out at the bar, so we got a round and were standing at the bar when the same guy who works there comes over and goes, "Well, you can actually sit at that corner table if you want. But if anybody comes in here to eat, you'll have to get up." Which we thought was fair. After about 10 minutes or so, we do have to get up as a group of hungry people arrive, which is fine, no problem. So we decide this place is not for us because it's so tiny and not what we expected so we leave and stand outside for a few mintues to come up with a new game plan and the same guy who offered us the table comes out and in a condescending accusatory tone asks us if we paid our tab. First of all, we already paid the bartender when we actually ordered our round and left him a nice tip. Second of all, it was not that crowded that they couldn't keep a handle on who paid when they actually bought drinks at the bar (which was basically only us at that time). And lastly, if we didn't pay, why would we stand around outside the establishment waiting to get caught? We were HIGHLY insulted at his accusation and for a multitude of reasons listed here, we are NEVER going back there again.

Yokohama Japanese Restaurant

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in MASS. The restaurant is in a moderate size, the menu is 2 pages long and they have a sushi list as well. Their sashimi is very fresh and cut nicely. They also serve the best miso soup. They also have tasty chicken teriyaki, and unagi bento box or una-don. This restaurant is owned by a geninue Japanese couple. If you are looking for a Japanese Restaurant where the chef is actually Japanese and not Chinese/Korean, this is a place you might want to try.

Much better than it looks like from the outside. The quality of the sushi is surprisingly high. They give fish generously. Their sushi rolls are also innovative and interesting.

At first, I thought their name was 1/2 Price Sushi, but they are much more than that, they make lovely stews and other Japanese and Korean dishes. My favorites are their sushi platters, which can satisfy a number of sushi appetites.

Not the place to take someone snooty, but the perfect place to go to eat good food. You will see some people in suits and ties and others in sweatpants with letters down one leg. They will all be smiling. The one in the sweats will be having lamb chops with fine red wine and the one in the suit and tie will be having a burger and a beer. The Red Sox game will be on, the windows will be open, and everyone will be thanking the Lord that there is a place like this. After their bill and 20% tip, they will still have a smile on their face.
