My wife and I dined at the Chatham Bars Inn Main DIning room on 8 Oct 2007 with friends. This was our firt time dining at the Inn, and what a wonderful find! The dinner was spot on ... food, portion size, presentation of the meal, and the level of service provided by our server left nothing for improvement. We have dined throughout the world, and were quite impressed with the entire experience. This, coupled with the amazing views, made for a wonderful evening!

Used to be the place to go in Chatham, Now it's dirty and tired. Staff is ill trained and inattentive and the food isn't what it used to be. They now buy their Chowder in plastic bags, hasn't been made on site in years.

Went to the Red Nun on a recent vacation and I think this was the best meal I had in all of Cape Cod. I disagree with the previous reviewer that said they have mostly "bar food". I got a seafood dinner special that included the most delicious cod, lobster, and scallops that I think I've ever had, and for only $15.95! (Salad and side dish included). My date had the fish and chips and it was among the best he's had anywhere in the world. I loved the location, it's right next to the Chatham Cape Cod baseball league's field, so it's wonderful to watch the game and stop in for dinner afterwards. It looks a little rough on the outside, it could use some paint, but don't let that deter you, the food is truly fantastic. I had a dinner earlier the same week at Christian's, another Chatham restaurant that's more expensive, and it didn't compare to the Red Nun.

Great food, fast. Everything is (or appears to be)homemade which makes a world of difference, because life is too short to eat chain restaurant food. Service is decent, not fantastic, but decent and consisitant. Great place for an adult (yes, I prefer to dine in restaurants without chiildren that's why I added the 'adult' part) evening with friends.

My family and i vacation in w. dennis and i always make it a point to visit the captains club for the live entertainment. Im not sure what it is about the atmosphere that keeps drawing me back? Also the seafood bisque i had last year was fresh and tastefull.

Great food at reasonable prices. An sleeper of a place, nothing much to look at inside or out but they do the Cape Cod standards the best of all. You don't have to know the staff before you go in but they'll be your friends when you leave. Daily blackboard specials are first rate but I have a hard time getting past my standards of Fish and Chips, Fried Oysters or the Jalapeno Jack Burger, all with a starter of Seafood Chowder. Nobody on the Cape (or anywhere else that I've been) does better fried local seafood and french fries. Draft beer selection is great for a small place. I skip the Cape Cod Brewery offerings but somebody drinks a lot of it. For a cool evening try the Black and Tan drawn to order from Bass Ale and Guinness Stout. It comes to you in two distinct layers and mixes as you drink it. They have a full bar but only a small wine selection. This is a beer or a mixed drink kind of place although there are a lot of teetotalers eating there too. If you are in Orleans, don't miss it and if you have to wait for a table, grab a beer and enjoy the locals at the bar. Lunch and dinner only. They close the kitchen between lunch and dinner and again after the evening rush. Not a place for a late dinner or snack.

So I read plenty of great great reviews, and i decide to make a reservation and go to this place. i get there on time and i am seated. the waitress only came 15 minutes after i was seated. She was new and inexperienced. I ordered the most disgusting drink i have ever drank in my life(saketini). I ordered appetizers only 1 came and it came 1 hour after i ordered it was not fresh either. the table was dirty and waitress had not moved a finger. I had asked another waitress to just give me the bill for what i ordered, she apologized but my original waitress never even came up to ask anything. I WOULD NEVER GO AGAIN, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

We had the pleasure of dining at Yarmouth House during our first wedding anivesary. We found Yarmouth house while driving by on our way to our hotel. We found the outside to be absolutely beautiful with a water wheel in the front dining room that you can see from the street. The setting of the restraunt was spectacular. We were greeted with a smile. Once seated we had the pleasure of being served by a young lady named Kim. The service that Kim provided us was outstanding! The food was equally outstanding! By the end of our third meal in as many days we were trying to justify driving 4 1/2 hours from our house in Connecticut for dinner at the Yarmouth House. If your in the area it is a must go to. You will definately not be disappointed! Kim we will definately be back again!!!

Casual, inexpensive and very popular. A good place to bring kids. Decent seafood and steaks at a reasonable price, but certainly not fine dining. Fun bar scene with widescreen sports TVs. Can get very busy and crowded.
