cake decorating help? Question: does anyone know any good websites for cool cake designs and cake decorating tips? also do you know if there are any specialty cake stores near andover, massachusetts?
Answer:
The best cake decorating web site I ever found was www.cakecentral.com. They have an enormous amount of cake decorating suggestions as well as pictures of each of the cake. Also people who post their cake decorating pictures have links where you can email them if you have any specific questions about the cake. They also have an excellent index breaking down the cakes by type and/or theme.

can you go to a school in massachusetts even if you dont live in that town? Question: I am moving to burlington massachusetts from florida and i really want to go to doherty middle school in andover cuz one of my bffs goes there!!!!!!!
Answer:
No, aside from the fact that Andover is about 20 miles away from Burlington and I seriously doubt your parents are going to want to spend over an hour driving you to school during rush hour in the morning, you can only go to schools in another town under special circumstances, like if your town has an arrangement with a neighboring town, or if there aren't enough spaces in your local school. Which is definitely not the case with Andover and Burlington.

Did you know our president was a cheerleader and a cowardly soldier who weaseled out of service? Question: Bush attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts where he played baseball, but made a more significant mark as an effective head cheerleader at the all-boys school during his senior year. woooohoooo. then after that he served um honorably during vietnam= In May 1968, at the height of the ongoing Vietnam War, Bush was accepted into the Texas Air National Guard despite only scoring 25 percent on the written pilot's aptitude test, which was the lowest acceptable passing gradeAfter training, he was assigned to duty in Houston, flying Convair F-102s out of Ellington Air Force Base. Critics have alleged that Bush was favorably treated during his time of service due to his father's political standing and that he was irregular in attendance. The Department of Defense has released all the records of Bush's Texas Air National Guard service which it says remain in its official archives. Bush took a transfer to the Alabama Air National Guard in 1972 8 months early

Why isn't the movie showing in other states? Question: I'm huge Genghis Khan and the Mongols fan and I wanna see the Mongol so bad, but too bad I live in Massachusetts, I'm mean this movie has already came out and its not in theatre in this state. I'm its showing in New York, why is that? I wish I lived in New York. I live in Andover, Massachusetts I tried seaching any theatres near it that is showing that movie, apparently not. I don't understand why is it not showing here.
Answer:
Generally, foreign films released theatrically in the U.S. don't gross much. In order to cut losses, they are given limited releases of only a few hundred or even just a few theaters. If you wait a couple months, it will be released on DVD, which is far superior to theaters anyway. ;-)

Question: I'm an 17 years old Junior that goes to Andover High School in Andover Massachusetts, and I want to get into Assumption College so bad, I know douple of my friends got accepted there. I'm about to take the SAT in like 2 weeks. I know I'm going to do poorly on the SAT because I'm terrible test taker, I did alot of SAT practice test by myself and with my tutor, still I did not score well. I heard if I explain everything to the Assumption College admissions guy that I'm not a good test taker and better than other areas, they would understand. Obviously I've never been to one and I just want to make sure I go somewhere good and clean.
Thanks!

How do I really get myself out there? Question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=X3oDMTE1MmI4N2IyBF9TAzIxM TU1MDAxMTgEc2VjA2Fuc19ub3QEc2xrA3N1YmplY3Q-;_ylv=3?qid=2008072416 2705AAeerTs
My name is Erica and I'm trying to pursue a career in country music.
I am 14 and too young to sing at bars and clubs, but I don't want to limit myself to the Church choir (which is not an option, as my mother wouldn't approve, she's Jewish) and small town plays. I live in Massachusetts if that means anything. I can perform in front of an audience, I love the feeling and that's not something I'm nervous of doing, I just don't know how to get myself out there. Also, I don't play an instrument, I want guitar lessons, but I don't know how that's gonna go...
What are other things I can play at? There isn't alot that goes on in my town, North Andover. Am I too young to even be playing at places?
Answer:
Well, if you want to try teaching yourself to play guitar, check this site out: http://www.jguitar.com
I've been playing guitar for six or seven years now (I lost count somehow) and that site seems to be accurate.
Now, to answer the big question, you could, like many have done, make a MySpace to showcase your talent. And, also along those lines, is to create a YouTube account. Many musicians now have YouTube accounts, including some big names like Brad Paisley and Martina McBride.
Something every music act--no matter what genre they play in--needs is a demo. To do that, you'd need a way to record songs that sound professionally recorded. In this day and age, you can record pro-quality songs on almost any computer. I, myself, would highly recommend a Mac to start (GarageBand is a great application that comes equipped on every Mac--perfect to create songs).
The best thing to do to actually get a big audience is to play local shows--there are usually places that aren't bars that will allow younger performers perform.
Here are some sites you can make accounts on to showcase your musical talents:
http://www.myspace.com
http://www.purevolume.com
ht tp://www.garageband.com
And, exclusively for country artists, there's this site:
http://www.digitalrodeo.com
To find out what GarageBand, which I mentioned, is, check out http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband
Also, there's a free audio editing software that is available called Audacity. I hear it's fine and I've actually heard some songs created using it and they sound pretty close to professional--perfect for a demo. To find Audacity, go to Google.com and just type in, "audacity." It should be the first link.
By the way, there are many younger people who perform live and stuff. Take Sarah Jarosz (search for her on YouTube or go to http://www.myspace.com/sarahjaroszmusic ), for instance. She's a mandolin player from Texas who can also play clawhammer banjo and guitar. She's not as young as you are, but I believe she's been playing for quite a few years. Just be warned that she's not country--instead, she's more along the lines of bluegrass and she's 17-years-old now. She has a record deal. 17 is young to be getting a record deal!
To get a record deal at 14 is a bit less likely than to get one at 17, but it's still possible--just try your best.
Hope this helped and good luck on your musical journey!
