City DescriptionCatonsville is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 39,820 at the 2000 census. Catonsville is bordered by Woodlawn to the north, by the City of Baltimore to the east, by Elkridge to the south, and by Ellicott City to its west.
Europeans were the second group to settle the area now known as Catonsville. It is generally believed by historians that native tribes, known as the Piscataway, established villages here before the European colonists arrived. This tribe occupied the land between the Potomac to the Chesapeake Bay and up the Patapsco River. Catonsville was located along the Piscataway Trail. The colonists and the tribes got along until the mid 17th century, when the English government ended the practices of Catholic Missionaries in the area. It is believed that the tribes were driven from their villages and some were hunted by slave catchers. As happened in many areas of the early colonial America, diseases unknown to the tribes were spread by the colonists. Eventually, the tribes moved north under the protection of the Iroquois.
With most of the natives scattered, the colonists expanded ... Read MoreCity Contained By:- Baltimore County

Questions Possibly Related to Catonsville, MarylandProvided By Y! Answers
in catonsville maryland i am looking for a good place to eat breakfast. Thoughts? Question: My boyfriend lives in Catonsville, MD and we like to eat out for breakfast on Saturdays. LAst weekend we ate at Friendly's and it was horrible. we need a good place for breakfast and I'm just wondering if anyone knows something I don't know.
Answer:
That Friendly's is a pit.
I'm not sure how many of these places have breakfast on Saturday but there are a lot of nice places to have brunch in old Ellicott City. We like Side Streets the best. It's just off Frederick Ave, behind the Phoenix.
There's also Nora Cafe for good bagels and eggs and coffee. It's on Route 40 in the Normandy Woods shopping center. They have breakfast every day.
For a really fancy brunch, head out west a little further on Route 40 to the Crab Shanty. I know they only have brunch on Sundays. The best part about that place is the fact that they bring around a basket of fresh baked goods. Yummy muffins and scones and stuff.
Just past that (still on route 40) in the Enchanted Forest shopping center is the Bagel Bin, also good bagels and coffee. The Forest Diner is right across the street and next to it is another Double T. We prefer the Forest to the Double T. The menu isn't nearly as big but what they do is better (avoid the $5 crab cake tho!) and the waitresses are much friendlier.

How can get natural hair without cutting my hair off.? Question: I haven't had a perm in about 3 months. During that time I have been washing my hair every week and using a deep conditioner. I also flat iron my hair. My hair is a little pass my shoulder I am just sick and tired of my hair but don't want to cut it off. I have decided that I would like to get twist. What do I do first and are there any good natural hairstylist in the baltimore, catonsville area in maryland.
Answer:
you do not have to cut all your hair off if you don't want to but you can wear certain hairstyles in the time being. if you want to get a twist and you still have permed ends that may be a bit diffcult because the twist may not stay tightly in place where you have the relaxed ends. A hairstylist told me that when I was growing out my hair too and then I eventually cut it. I do know a few good natural hairstylists in the baltimore area too. There is a place on Charles street called Lion's Denn and they have really great natural hairstylists and there is another salon that I know of too. Send me an email and I can give you their number. In the meantime, if you are looking for information on natural hair or transitioning check out this link. http://www.naturalblackbeauty.com/transitioning.html
