    Swartz is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 4,247 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. Swartz is located at 32°33′58″N 91°59′30″W / 32.56611, -91.99167 (32.566128, -91.991557). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 13.5 square miles (34.9 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 4,247 people, 1,557 households, and 1,250 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 314.7 people per square mile (121.6/km²). There were 1,642 housing units at an average density of 121.7/sq mi (47.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.10% White, 6.80% African American, 0.40% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.78% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.62% of the population. There were 1,557 households out of which 41.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.5% were married couples living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.7% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone
