City DescriptionSimsboro is a village in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 684 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Ruston Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Simsboro is located at 32°32′3″N 92°47′11″W / 32.53417, -92.78639 (32.534169, -92.786417).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 9.0 km² (3.5 mi²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 684 people, 273 households, and 193 families residing in the village. The population density was 76.1/km² (197.2/mi²). There were 338 housing units at an average density of 37.6/km² (97.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 77.05% White, 21.49% African American, 0.73% Native American, 0.44% from other races, and 0.29% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.73% of the population.
There were 273 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% were married couples living together, 14.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% were non-families. 23.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
