    Leonville is a town in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,007 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Opelousas–Eunice Micropolitan Statistical Area. Leonville is located at 30°28′12″N 91°58′57″W / 30.47, -91.9825 (30.470031, -91.982407). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,007 people, 365 households, and 281 families residing in the town. The population density was 376.9 people per square mile (145.6/km²). There were 389 housing units at an average density of 145.6/sq mi (56.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 65.34% White, 33.37% African American, 0.50% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.89% of the population. There were 365 households out of which 38.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.0% were non-families. 19.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
