City Description

Kilbourne is a village in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 436 at the 2000 census. Kilbourne is located at 32°59′46″N 91°18′55″W / 32.99611, -91.31528 (32.996064, -91.315296). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.5 km² (1.4 mi²), all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 436 people, 168 households, and 124 families residing in the village. The population density was 123.8/km² (319.8/mi²). There were 185 housing units at an average density of 52.5/km² (135.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.62% White, 0.69% African American, 0.46% Native American, 0.23% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.15% of the population. There were 168 households out of which 38.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 21.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
