City DescriptionDenham Springs is a city in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States, and part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 8,757 at the 2000 census.
Denham Springs is located at 30°28′47″N 90°57′15″W / 30.47972, -90.95417 (30.479739, -90.954105).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.1 square miles (15.7 km²), of which, 6.0 square miles (15.6 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.66%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 8,757 people, 3,308 households, and 2,431 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,452.5 people per square mile (560.7/km²). There were 3,550 housing units at an average density of 588.8/sq mi (227.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 84.58% White, 13.32% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.89% of the population.
