City DescriptionClaiborne is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 9,830 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Claiborne is located at 32°31′49″N 92°11′30″W / 32.53028, -92.19167 (32.530235, -92.191796).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.1 square miles (26.3 km²), of which, 10.1 square miles (26.2 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.39%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 9,830 people, 3,759 households, and 2,823 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 972.3 people per square mile (375.4/km²). There were 3,925 housing units at an average density of 388.2/sq mi (149.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.04% White, 1.58% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.23% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.08% of the population.
