City DescriptionAnacoco is a village in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 866 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort Polk South Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Anacoco is located at 31°15′10″N 93°20′38″W / 31.25278, -93.34389 (31.252671, -93.343801).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.0 km² (3.1 mi²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 866 people, 346 households, and 255 families residing in the village. The population density was 108.2/km² (280.5/mi²). There were 376 housing units at an average density of 47.0/km² (121.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 93.65% White, 0.12% African American, 1.62% Native American, 1.04% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 0.92% from other races, and 2.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.42% of the population.
