City DescriptionWhitesville is a city in Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 632 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Owensboro, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1844 by Dr. William White, and named for him.
Whitesville is located at 37°40′59″N 86°52′14″W / 37.68306, -86.87056 (37.683181, -86.870587).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 632 people, 250 households, and 175 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,411.0 people per square mile (542.3/km²). There were 260 housing units at an average density of 580.5/sq mi (223.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.10% White, 0.79% African American, 0.16% Asian, and 0.95% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population.
