City DescriptionVine Grove is a city in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 4,169 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Elizabethtown, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Vine Grove is located at 37°48′43″N 85°58′48″W / 37.81194, -85.98 (37.811971, -85.980006).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.9 square miles (15.3 km²), of which, 5.9 square miles (15.3 km²) of it is land and 0.17% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,169 people, 1,619 households, and 1,160 families residing in the city. The population density was 707.6 people per square mile (273.3/km²). There were 1,779 housing units at an average density of 302.0/sq mi (116.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 83.31% White, 10.63% African American, 0.55% Native American, 1.73% Asian, 0.31% Pacific Islander, 1.20% from other races, and 2.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.02% of the population.
There were 1,619 households out of which 37.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% were married couples living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% were non-families. 24.3% of ...
