City DescriptionUniontown is a city in Union County, Kentucky in the United States of America. The population was 1,064 at the 2000 census. The name derives from the fact that the city was formed by merging the towns of Francisburg and Locust Port.
Uniontown is located at 37°46′20″N 87°55′55″W / 37.77222, -87.93194 (37.772281, -87.931890), along the Ohio River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (7.29%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,064 people, 445 households, and 300 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,192.9 people per square mile (461.6/km²). There were 482 housing units at an average density of 540.4/sq mi (209.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 91.54% White, 7.61% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.09% Asian, and 0.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.
