City DescriptionSalt Lick is a city in Bath County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 342 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Mount Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Salt Lick is located at 38°7′10″N 83°36′58″W / 38.11944, -83.61611 (38.119555, -83.616069).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.0 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 342 people, 130 households, and 89 families residing in the city. The population density was 437.6 people per square mile (169.3/km²). There were 157 housing units at an average density of 200.9/sq mi (77.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.12% White, 0.58% Native American, and 0.29% from two or more races.
There were 130 households out of which 35.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.21.
