City DescriptionPembroke is a city in Christian County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 797 at the 2000 census. Settled in 1836, the city is named for a character in the novel Thaddeus of Warsaw. It is part of the Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Sometimes to save time, residence will just refer to Pembroke as part of Oak Grove, Kentucky.
Pembroke is located at 36°46′29″N 87°21′23″W / 36.77472, -87.35639 (36.774633, -87.356361).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.7 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 797 people, 305 households, and 214 families residing in the city. The population density was 772.4 people per square mile (298.8/km²). There were 328 housing units at an average density of 317.9/sq mi (123.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 64.87% White, 31.12% African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.75% from other races, and 2.51% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.25% of the population.
