City Description

North Middletown is a city in Bourbon County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 562 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. North Middletown is located at 38°8′40″N 84°6′29″W / 38.14444, -84.10806 (38.144514, -84.108148). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 562 people, 217 households, and 156 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,918.8 people per square mile (748.2/km²). There were 234 housing units at an average density of 798.9/sq mi (311.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.98% White, 1.60% African American, 0.18% from other races, and 1.25% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.71% of the population. There were 217 households out of which 36.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 13.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
