City Description

Minor Lane Heights is a city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,435 at the 2000 census. Minor Lane Heights is located at 38°7′21″N 85°42′58″W / 38.1225, -85.71611 (38.122418, -85.716235). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,435 people, 477 households, and 392 families residing in the city. The population density was 950.4 people per square mile (366.9/km²). There were 494 housing units at an average density of 327.2/sq mi (126.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.89% White, 1.74% African American, 1.11% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.35% of the population. There were 477 households out of which 41.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% were married couples living together, 17.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.8% were non-families. 14.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
