City DescriptionLyndon is a Fourth Class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. Lyndon was incorporated on May 10th 1965. The population was 9,369 at the 2000 census. Since the 1990s it has been the fastest growing city in Jefferson County.
Lyndon is located at 38°15′52″N 85°35′28″W / 38.26444, -85.59111 (38.264521, -85.591223).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.5 square miles (8.9 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 9,369 people, 4,520 households, and 2,246 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,718.8 people per square mile (1,048.5/km²). There were 4,934 housing units at an average density of 1,431.8/sq mi (552.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 85.62% White, 9.12% African American, 0.28% Native American, 2.12% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 1.15% from other races, and 1.65% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.80% of the population.
