City Description

Livingston is a city in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 228 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Richmond–Berea Micropolitan Statistical Area. Livingston is located at 37°17′55″N 84°12′60″W / 37.29861, -84.21667 (37.298551, -84.216661). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 228 people, 104 households, and 63 families residing in the city. The population density was 704.4 people per square mile (275.1/km²). There were 122 housing units at an average density of 376.9/sq mi (147.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.05% White and 3.95% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.51% of the population. There were 104 households out of which 24.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.3% were married couples living together, 16.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.5% were non-families. 35.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.86. In
