City DescriptionBlandville is a city in Ballard County, Kentucky, United States. It was founded in 1842 and named for Captain Bland Ballard, a hero of the War of 1812. Blandville was the seat of Ballard County from 1842 to 1881, when it was moved to Wickliffe. The population was 99 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Paducah, KY-IL Micropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 99 people, 39 households, and 26 families residing in the city. The population density was 519.2 people per square mile (201.2/km²). There were 46 housing units at an average density of 241.2/sq mi (93.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 92.93% White, 2.02% African American, 1.01% from other races, and 4.04% from two or more races.
There were 39 households out of which 35.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 12.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 20.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
