Beehive Tavern

Latest Review:
The Beehive Tavern has a unique and light-hearted atmosphere. The building and furnishings are rustic and homey. The service is friendly and accomodating. And best of all, the food is scrumptious. The chef, trained in New York city, is also an artist and vocalist. The Beehive has been in existence for twenty years and is Augusta's main tourist attraction. If you're ever in Augusta, you won't want to miss it.

The Blue Haven hasn't changed since the day it opened. So if you enjoyed it back then you will enjoy it today. Not open on Saturday or Sunday and not open for breakfast (strange) they serve lunch and dinner Monday thru Friday from about 11 am to 8 pm. But be careful about coming after 7 pm it seems to be up to the old man if he will decide to serve you or not. Sometimes he will say its to late and others days its no problem. Plain food, menu never changes and the attitude of the staff never does either. So I can say if you liked it the first time you will like it the next and the same for those who don't. They make a big deal over homemade pies and the regulars seem to think the world of them, but to me just plain and not worth breaking my diet. Soft drink policy does change some times the policy is free refills other times no refills and still again one refill. Owner loves to tell you why you can't have a refill. Blames it on the soft drink distributor (like I care what is overhead is). Which shows a side in the owner not attractive at all. But locals seem to love it no matter what. Ownership is generous to the town and church hosting a yearly pie sale with proceeds going to local fund raiser. The little blue building with the old crusting owners will be there until they take their last puff in their cigs. So fans enjoy it while you can they are close to retirement and I don???t think a ownership change can carry on the tradition. I rate this 5 stars for fans of the Blue Haven and for others you might want to try going home a cooking the same thing 2 stars.

The salad bar needed some help, but other than that, the food was great. It's fun to sit in this restaurant and watch the cars go by on St.Rt. 125.

Absolutely the best food money can buy. Very friendly service. When we lived closer we would eat there at least three times a week and could never get enough. Rumor has it that they are planning to close up shop. If they do, i wont have any reason to go to georgetown. As far as i am concerned, southern ohio as a whole will be losing one of the best restaurants in the business.

Frisch's Big Boy Restaurant

Average Rating: 3    Total Ratings: 2
551 W Plane St - Bethel, OH Map (distance: 14 miles)

Latest Review:
This is one of the best run Frisch's Big Boy in the area. It is what it is Frisch's. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea then save your money. But if your like me and remember the good old days of driving up and having a car hop take your order or going in to sit down and have the unusual combination of trauter sauce and hamburger on a bun your will enjoy the Bethel Frisch's. The car hop has been replaced with the drive thru, but the inside is the same. The downfall with the drive thru like all drive thrus is cold food and at these prices don't take it...demand it be replaced. Fresh hot fries and a Big Boy is a treat, but only when fresh and hot. Inside is usually fresh off the grill. All your old favorites are still their the Fish Sandwich (try it with rye bun and onion) Brawny Lad, Swiss Miss and the others. They do try new seasonal item that aren't bad. Price for some with big families might be high if you compare to McD and others, but you do get to be waited on and that is kind of nice.
