The Depot is one of the best restaurants in the tri-county area. It is much better than any of the chain restaurants that Clarksville seems to attract. It is an actual converted train depot and while you're dining, a train goes right beside the restaurant. It is not very noisy, and adds a lot to the ambience. The only problem is that the restaurant is small so there can be a long wait time because the place is just so darned popular. If you enjoy the taste of a rum and coke cocktail, then try one made with Pritchard's Rum, a rum distilled in Kelso, TN. It is very good. The carrot cake at the The Depot is huge and so tasty - 6 layers high. Tell the manger he definitely needs to enlarge the building.

One of the best parts about visiting our family down in Russellville is going to Roy's. Loved the original place but the new location is just as nice (it's so much bigger!). Lots of UK memorabilia and the owners treat you like family (I guess it helps if they really are!!). I would rate this as a MUST when visiting or driving through R'ville.

The Bar-b-que at Roy's is average on their very best day. I have had great BBQ all over the South, and I have had very little luck with BBQ in Kentucky. Roy's is definitely on the lower end of the scale. OK if you have no other choice. People come from all over to eat there? Well, yeah, its one of the few places for miles and miles to eat. The rest of their menu is average at best. If you want good BBQ in south-central KY you will have to get it from and independent that sets up on his or her own.

This is a family restaurant that has been in business since 1929. They have daily specials along with the best chicken and barbecue around. The sweet ice tea is five star also. You can't beat the prices they have and the friendly people that work for them make the eating experience wonderful.

Every single time I've been to this place (6 times in all)I've failed to receive anything that you would call service. I've usually been seated within minutes, as there is never been a real crowd at the times I've been. The problem seems to stem from the employees not really caring about waiting on the customer. The server will take your order, bring your drinks and then 30 to 45 minutes later you might see your server again with your food. You certainly do not see them again prior to the food coming out, so if you run out of your drink, guess that is too bad. The employees seem to have a better time talking with each other than worrying about taking care of you. Each time I received my food, it was merely warm, as I think they get too wrapped up in other things to remember that your food is ready and it must sit there for 15 to 20 minutes of the 30 to 45 you have to wait for it. I've never had this issue at any other Applebees! The one time I did "Carside To Go", I called, odered and was told to park in the designated area... I pulled up and waited another 15 minutes in my car (added to the 15 minutes I waited before arriving). I walked in the restaurant to inquire about the ETA and was told they were not running carside tonight!!!!! I was then told that they had been waiting for me to get out and walk in!! I left minus the food I ordered, I was outraged!! Mind you, I am not lazy and do not mind walking in, but that is not how THEIR program works and I was told to park and it would be out!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
