City DescriptionWestphalia is a city in Anderson County, Kansas, United States. The population was 165 at the 2000 census.
Westphalia is located at 38°10′52″N 95°29′27″W / 38.18111, -95.49083 (38.181226, -95.490698).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 165 people, 66 households, and 39 families residing in the city. The population density was 834.8 people per square mile (318.5/km²). There were 75 housing units at an average density of 379.5/sq mi (144.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.15% White, 1.82% Native American, and 3.03% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.82% of the population.
There were 66 households out of which 36.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% were non-families. 36.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.41.
