City DescriptionViola is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. The population was 211 at the 2000 census.
Viola is located at 37°29′1″N 97°38′42″W / 37.48361, -97.645 (37.483526, -97.644918).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 211 people, 74 households, and 56 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,331.7 people per square mile (509.2/km²). There were 79 housing units at an average density of 498.6/sq mi (190.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.21% White, 2.37% Native American, 0.47% from other races, and 0.95% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.42% of the population.
There were 74 households out of which 41.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.4% were married couples living together, 14.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.25.
