    Tescott is a city in Ottawa County, Kansas, United States. The population was 339 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Salina Micropolitan Statistical Area. In 1865, Thomas Eugene Scott came to Kansas while herding sheep across the Midwest. He built a house east of town on a hill that is now known as “Scott’s Hill.” The town began in 1886, and Scott sold the town to Colonel Dean of Kansas City in 1891. In memory of its founder, citizens named the town Tescott after T.E. Scott.((http://www.cityoftescott.com/)) Tescott is located at 39°0′43″N 97°52′41″W / 39.01194, -97.87806 (39.012005, -97.878140). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 339 people, 133 households, and 88 families residing in the city. The population density was 998.5 people per square mile (385.0/km²). There were 151 housing units at an average density of 444.8/sq mi (171.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.35% White, 0.88% African American, 1.47% Native American, and 0.29% from two or more races.
