    Severy is a city in Greenwood County, Kansas, United States. The population was 359 at the 2000 census. Severy is located at 37°37′21″N 96°13′39″W / 37.6225, -96.2275 (37.622487, -96.227635). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 359 people, 152 households, and 89 families residing in the city. The population density was 710.9 people per square mile (277.2/km²). There were 197 housing units at an average density of 390.1/sq mi (152.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.38% White, 1.95% Native American, 0.28% from other races, and 1.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.84% of the population. There were 152 households out of which 28.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.4% were non-families. 33.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
