City DescriptionRichmond is a city in Franklin County, Kansas, United States. The population was 510 at the 2000 census.
Richmond is located at 38°24′9″N 95°15′11″W / 38.4025, -95.25306 (38.402512, -95.252941).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 510 people, 172 households, and 129 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,812.5 people per square mile (703.3/km²). There were 187 housing units at an average density of 664.6/sq mi (257.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.88% White, 1.76% Native American, 0.20% Asian, and 2.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.96% of the population.
There were 172 households out of which 39.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.4% were married couples living together, 8.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.20.
